HDTV Antenna for Plano TX Texas? - vhf antenna 40 miles and a pre-amp

I live just north of Plano, TX, 20 miles north of Dallas. The TV antenna farm is located 20 miles south of Dallas. We have many channels that I want to get cable or satellite. I have several rabbit ears and all equal, just, but not exceptional. And I can not be allocated a big antenna outside of the upper class.

With rabbit ears, I have a few channels, most of UHF, a sign that two or three VHF. Is there a way to capture the TV signal good 40 miles north of the antenna farm without high into the roof or climb something?
